ROCKWELL ANNOUNCES RELEASE 3.0 OF THE DDN ROUTER

SANTA BARBARA, CA, February 6,1990 -- Rockwell CMC, a subsidiary of
Rockwell International Corporation, announces a major software upgrade
and Unified Local Area Network Architecture (ULANA) compliance for its
DRN-3200 DDN Router. The DRN-3200, an Internet Protocol (IP) router,
gives TCP/IP Ethernet users access to the resources of the Defense Data
Network (DDN) or compatible networks.

The new software release, Release 3.0, which is being certified for use under
the ULANA contract, includes support for Simple Network Management
Protocol (SNMP), enhanced diagnostics and software downloading.

Electronic Data Systems (EDS), one of the suppliers for the ULANA contract
to install local area networks at Air Force bases over a period of five years,
extensively tested Rockwell's DRN-32000 software, for ULANA compliance
and is working to add the Router to the ULANA Approved Products List.
When this is complete, the DRN-3200 can be purchased by any authorized
government agency under the contract.

SNMP, a network management standard for the TCP/IP protocol suite, is
included with the Release 3.0, allowing SNMP management stations to access
the Router for management information and control. The unit features full
compliance with the RFC standards and supports the standard Management
Information Base (MIB) plus a Rockwell specific MIB extension.

Increased diagnostic capabilities include the X.25 Line Monitoring System
(LMS), a tool useful for isolating compatibility and line failure problems. The
tool allows the system manager to display X.25 traffic transiting the Router.
LMS reads and displays the X.25 line as a selective debugging tool.

The Rockwell CMC Download Service (CDS) is now available for the DRN-
3200. A CDS Server host downloads centrally administered configuration
data and operating code to the DRN-3200 across an Ethernet using Internet-
standard bootstrap protocols.

New DRN-3200 features also include:

    Support for ULANA defined Basic IP Security Options;
    SNMP agent supporting conforming to RFC 1065,1066, and 1067;
    Sub-Network Access Protocol (SNAP) Interface;
    Support for up to 126 X.25 virtual circuits;
    DDN communication software certifled by the Defense
    Communications Agency.

The DRN-3200 comes with a choice of protocol interfaces to the DDN, X.25 or
1822. The Routers are priced at $11,900 and $18,900 respectively. Delivery is
two weeks after receipt or order.
