This recipe could be used as part of a 12 course meal known in Polish as
Wigilia, or on its own.  Wigilia is eaten after sundown on Christmas Eve.

IG "\(12 tsp" "mace or nutmeg" "2.5 ml"

Place apples in a buttered casserole or baking dish.  Fill each with jam.

Blend sugar and mace and stir in wine and vanilla.
Pour over apples and cover.
