Esperanto-societo en Maribor (Slovenio) invitas chiujn esperantistojn kiuj
estas iel ajn ligitaj al komputismo, alighi al la ghis nun plej granda
projekto kiu ligas esperanton kaj elektronikan komunikreton: alighi al
komputila reto nomata "EspNet"
1) Kio estas tio?
Tio estas mondvasta projekto, kiu ebligos al chiuj esperantistoj uzantaj
komputilojn interligighi inter si, intershanghi informojn kaj debati tre
rapide, malmultekoste kaj efike.
2) Kiel tio funkcias?
La sistemo funkcias surbaze de nodoj kiuj inter si intershanghas
informojn en certaj intervaloj, uzas por tio telefonan reton kaj
modemon (tio estas aparato kiu ebligas la transdonon de komputilaj
datumoj al la telefona reto). Estas dezirinde ke nodo estu al uzando
laueble proksima, tiel ke la uzanto mem ne estu tro sharghita de telefon-
kostoj, ech ideale estus se la uzanto pagadus nur la lokajn telefonkostojn
se la nodo estas en la sama loka telefoncentralo.
3) Kio ghi estas por la uzanto?
La uzanto vidas antau si lokan nodon, al kiu venas la poshtajoj el la tuta
reto EspNet. La transportado de la informoj de nodo al nodo estas por la
uzanto komplete nevidebla kaj ghi estas zorgo nur de sistemistojn en la
koncerna nodo.
4) Kion, do, fari por alighi al tiu chi reto?
Serchu kaj kontaktu lokan BBS kaj interkonsentu pri la transigado de
"konferenco". Poste vi povos kontakti nin al la suba adreso. La resto
estas tekniko. Kiam BBS kontaktos nin, ni disponigos al ghi la
kompletan sistemon en esperanto, tiel ke la uzanto ne devas scii la
anglan lingvon.
5) Kion fari se la loka BBS estas tro malproksima au ne preta transporti
pluen la poshtajon?
En tiu kazo vi mem povas acheti PC-kongruan komputilon kaj modemon,
mendas telefonlinion kaj achetas necesan programaron kaj vi estos preta
por shalto. La resto estas tekniko (tempo de sendado, telefonnumeroj...)
En tiaj kazoj ni estas je via dispono por doni konsilojn, ja la unua
pasho chiam estas la plej malfacila.
6) Se vi estas uzanto de iu jam ekzistanta reto (InterNet, FidoNet...), kion
vi faru?
Sendu mesaghon al la suba adreso por ricevi pli detalajn informojn!
7) Kiel granda estos tiu chi reto?
Ni kalkulas pro proksimume 10-20 aktivaj nodoj kaj 30 tiuj kiuj ne estos
konstantaj sed nur sporadaj nodoj.
8) Simple dirite: Kial chio tio kaj kion ghi signifas por ni?
Tio signifas intershanghi informojn kun la tuta mondo, fulmrapide havi
kontakton kun homoj (simpla letero vojaghas al alia mondoparto kelkajn
semajnojn, en chi tiu kazo la respondo ni havas jam la postan tagon!),
kaj esperantistoj tra la tuta mondo. Eblecoj estas multegaj...
Mi esperas ke mi sukcesis plej larghe komprenigi al vi la ideon de la
projekto "EspNet". Por chiuj aliaj informoj turnu vin al iu el la subaj
adresoj.

Greetings!
Esperanto group in Maribor (Slovenia) invites all esperantists which are
in computers to join in the project which will join two areas - computers
and Esperanto language:the esperanto computer network called "EspNet".
1) What is that?
This is a large project, which will make possible to exchange messages
and various debates in Esperanto language all over the world to other
computer users fast and efficient.
2) How does it work?
The system works by using nodes, which exchange messages between them in
a frequent matter and use telephone connection and modem (e.g. equipment
which makes data exchange possible). It is desired, that the node is as
close as possible to the user, so that the user doesn't have to pay
a long-distance call. The ideal is, of course, that user makes a local call
to the nearest EspNet node.
3) And from the user's point of view?
User sees only this local node, which contains information gathered all
over EspNet and he operates as it would be written here. His replys and
comments the system transfers totally transparent, e.g. user doesn't have
to differ between local messages and messages that go into EspNet.
The transfer itself is a concern of system managers on that local BBS.
4) What do we have to do to get in?
Visit a local BBS and show them this information and make agreement for
a conference transfer. If they are willing to cooperate, then we are
reachable on following addresses to make up the details. The rest is only
of technical nature (exchange tine, phone numbers etc).
As soon that BBS contacts us, we will give them complete system translation
in Esperanto so that users don't even have to learn English.
5) What if the "local" BBS is too far or unwilling to transfer messages?
In that case you can buy a PC compatible computer and modem, rent a phone
line and get the software and you are ready to link in. The rest is only
of technical nature (exchange time, numbers etc.) If you have such a case
we'd be more than glad to help, as we know that the first step is the
hardest...
6) We are users of an existing network (InterNet, Fido...) What now?
Send a message to one of following addresses for detailed informations.
7) How big is this going to be actually?
Roughly 10-20 active nodes and about 30 "part-time" ones, which won't be
available always. But of course, this is only an estimation, real numbers
could be much higher.
8) A simple question:why all that and what is it going to bring us?
Informations from all over the world on the hand, fastest personal
contact with people (plain letter travels to the other side of the world
some weeks, but here the answer could be on your screen the very next day!)
and door to the Esperanto world and many many friends and bussines
partners. There are enormous possibilities...
