As of Issue 41 Phrack has claimed copyright (but no Lib. of Congress registry).
As a result of comments made in Phrack Issue 44 Phrack has indicated they do
not wish to avail themselves of the free national publicity provided by the
Hacker Chronicles CD. So no attempt has been made to contact them to request
distribution rights. However Phrack still permits distribution of Phrack Issues
after 41 via BBS, so subsequent issues will be available only from the Hacker
Chronicles support BBS (P80). With regard to other comments on the developement
plans of the Hacker Chronicles first release, I can only say its a shame they
don't abide by the general media rule of equal time (get the other side of the
story) as quickly as they are to make remarks about getting a piece of the
action. I Suppose this follows the general tendency of most current news (Grin)
sources to write what SELLS rather than aquiring ALL the facts. Needles to say
the developement of the original pressing of the Hacker Chronicles depiction
expressed in Phrack issue 44 is highly inacurate, but this is to be expected
with slanted one sided coverage. And since they printed our number it baffles
me why they didnt bother to pick up the fone and call??? This does of course
assume they WANTED both sides of the story huh. Seem logical to you?
Oh Well, life goes on.....
