Contractors and researchers without access to DTIC can obtain some of these
documents from the former NIC, SRI International.  (See instructions below.)

Documents available from SRI INTERNATIONAL, Network Information
Systems Center:

The following information has been provided by SRI International for online
distribution. SRI contact information is listed at the end of this file.
Please call SRI if you have any questions concerning any of these documents
or their availability.

1. RFCs, RFC INDEX, RFC SUBSCRIPTION

RFCs are technical notes describing protocol development and providing
general Internet information.  Several hosts are repositories for the
    RFCs, including NIC.DDN.MIL and FTP.NISC.SRI.COM.

RFCs are available online via anonymous ftp or electronic mail free of
charge.  SRI provides hardcopies on a cost recovery basis.

The RFC subscription includes all RFCs issued for one year from the date
    of an order.

    SRI Prices:

        RFC index          $10 domestic / $13 foreign
        RFCs individually  $10 domestic / $13 foreign
        RFC Subscription  $250 domestic / $300 foreign

NOTE: California residents must add 8.25% sales tax.

Domestic rates pertain to USA and Canada.  Foreign
rates are higher due to higher shipping costs.

2. GOVERNMENT OPEN SYSTEMS INTERCONNECTION PROFILE (GOSIP)

The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) describing the
Federal government's policy, including the DoD transition from
    TCP/IP to ISO international protocols.

Online filenames on FTP.NISC.SRI.COM are netinfo/gosip-v2.ps
or netinfo/gosip-v2.txt.  Hardcopies are also available

3. INTERNET TECHNOLOGY HANDBOOK

The Internet Technology Handbook updates and expands the DDN Protocol
Handbook.  It gathers a core set of RFCs, organizes them by networking
topic, and provides an introductory explanation of each topic and each
RFC's place within the scope of that topic.  A six volume set of more
than 5,000 pages, the Handbook also includes a one year Internet
Technology Subscription.  The Internet Technology Subscription ensures
that the Handbook will remain up to date because new RFCs that pertain
to the Handbook are sent quarterly, along with information that makes
it easy to know where new information fits.

SRI Price for the Handbook and a one-year Internet Technology
    Subscription:                          $785 domestic / $950 foreign
Price for an individual volume:        $150 domestic / $175 foreign
    Price for the Internet Technology
    Subscription renewal:                  $250 domestic / $300 foreign

Domestic rates pertain to USA and Canada.  Foreign
rates are higher due to higher shipping costs.

4. TCP/IP CD

The TCP/IP CD offers comprehensive documentation on the fundamentals
of TCP/IP networking.  The CD includes all the online Requests For
Comments (RFCs), all online Internet Engineering Notes (IENs), For
Your Information documents (FYIs, a subset of the RFCs), the GOSIP
specification, and other protocol, security, and informational files.
We also provide archives of technical mailing lists that discuss protocol
    implementation issues.

IFIND, an easy to use search program, is included on each disk.  The
search program works on both Unix and DOS systems.  It works by searching
indexes made from all RFC, IEN, and FYI files, and all TCP-IP and
Namedroppers mail messages.  As a free bonus, the CD includes public
domain source code related to TCP/IP networking for those who do not
have direct access to Internet file transfer capabilities.

    SRI Price:  $195 domestic / $198 foreign

NOTE: California residents should add 8.25% sales tax.

Domestic rates pertain to USA and Canada.  Foreign
rates are higher due to higher shipping costs.

Both the Internet Technology Handbook and the TCP/IP CD in one
special combination.  Price includes the Internet Technology
Subscription and one update to the CD.

    SRI Price:  $985 domestic / $1160 foreign

6. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY (NIST) OSI
  IMPLEMENTATION DOCUMENTS

SRI makes the output of four NIST Working Groups researching the
implementation of OSI standards in the U.S. available in a series
of subscriptions.  Four major working group areas are included:
    Directory Services (X.500); Message Handling Systems (X.400);
    Security; and Network Management.

SRI price for each NIST subscription is different.  Contact SRI for
    details.
