��ASSEMBLY�DEMO�REVIEW��The�Assembly93�has�brought�us�somenice�goodies,�so�here�is�the�reviewof�the�demos�I�managed�to�put�my�handon.�Thanx�for�the�groups�who�acceptedto�give�me�a�preview�of�their�demo�be-fore�they�release�it.��Although�most�of�the�intros�were�re-leased�(or�unofficially�spreaded)�atthe�party,only�one�demo�was�officiallyreleased�which�is�Saga�by�the�Germangroup�DUST.�Paranoids�released�theirdemo�WASTED�TIME�some�days�after�theparty,�and�some�preview�of�Obsessionby�The�BlackRain�is�also�available�onsome�boards�although�it�is�not�theofficial�release.�So�here�I'll�ONLYreview�the�demos�I�got�as�I�don't�wantto�make�any�mistakes�by�reviewingdemos�that�I've�just�seen�ones�on�thebig�screen.��--------------------------------------Name�:�Elements�Group�:�Xography�Country�:�Germany�Sound�:�Only�GUS�(Preview)�Size�:�3.2�Mega�--------------------------------------�This�is�not�the�first�time�we�hear�ofthis�quite�new�german�group,�theyalready�released�some�months�ago�alittle�preview�dentro�showing�somequite�neat�texture�mapping�vectors.Well,�here�they�are�back�with�theirfirst�real�demo.�The�demo�consist�of8�different�parts:�A�fire�Intro,�somevectorballs,�a�Fractal�Cube�(like�inCrystal�Dream�2),�Tunnel,�but�the�mostinteresting�part�are�the�Cyber�Partand�the�Water�Effect.�The�water�effectis�a�kind�of�greetings�parts,�you�seethe�groups�name�in�a�vertical�scrollersurrounded�by�water�falling�on�theletters.�In�fact�this�is�quite�visualso�quite�difficult�to�explain.�(Youwill�need�a�486�or�a�coprocessor�torun�this�part).�The�Cyber�part,�is�ademo�itself,�it's�a�little�bit�likethe�virtual�reality�part�in�CrystalDream�2�but�far�better�in�my�ownopinion.�You�are�in�the�command�of�afuturist�airplane�flying�into�a�city.The�plane�and�the�city�are�made�withtexture�mapping�vectors�and�the�resultis�quite�fast�and�really�nice�(even�onmy�silly�386dx33).�The�music�is�quitenice�(although�they�use�sevendifferent�modules�which�makes�thehuge�size�of�the�demo).�What�we�couldcall�the�only�bad�sides�of�the�demo,are�that�the�parts�doesn't�mergetogether,�I�mean�its�not�a�trackmo,you�get�a�black�screen�between�eachpart,�and�there�really�is�a�lack�ofdesign,�only�some�parts�like�thetunnel�part�got�finished�graphics,but�i�think�some�things�may�chanceuntil�the�final�version�is�released.But�anyway�it�doesn't�make�anydifferents,�this�is�a�really�niceproduction�and�a�beautiful�peace�ofcode,�so�what�i�sugest�you�is�todownload�it�on�a�bbs�near�you�as�soonas�it�is�released,�so...�in�one�ortwo�week�as�they�told�me.������--------------------------------------Name�:�Extermination�Group�:�Extreme�Country�:�Sweden/Finland�Sound�:�Sb,SbPro�Size�:�1.2�Mega�--------------------------------------�Ok,�this�is�the�last�production�ofthis�quite�productive�Swedish/Finishgroup.�This�one�is�not�as�huge�asLunatic�or�Techno-Holic�although�itis�a�nice�trackmo.�Most�of�the�effectsare�based�on�vectors,�mainly�GlenzVector�and�a�REALLY�nice�real-timefullscreen�fractal�zooming.�The�soundmade�by�Tonedeaf�is�quite�good,(although�it�is�a�bit�repetitive�asthey�use�one�single�64k�mod�for�thewhole�demo)�and�the�graphics�are�onthe�average�of�pc�gfx,�theintroduction�based�of�successivezooming�was�a�good�idea�and�all�thetransition�between�the�parts�made�agood�trackmo�out�of�it.�But�most�ofthe�effects�are�running�really�slow�onmy�386dx33�and�some�parts�even�don'twork�which�make�it�losing�all�it'sinterest�for�486-�owners.�But�as�I�gotonly�an�alpha-Preview-not-bugfixedversion�and�as�Extreme�told�me�at�theparty�that�there�will�be�a�lot�ofchanges�until�the�final�version�willbe�released�we�can�expect�a�very�niceproduction.�So�what�we�can�say�is:nice�sound,�nice�gfx,�lots�of�designand�lots�of�very�good�ideas�wich�makea�good�trackmo�out�of�it.�I'm�reallywaiting�to�see�the�final�bugfixedversion.����������--------------------------------------Name�:�Saga�Group�:�Dust�Country�:�Germany�Sound�:�Sb,Sbpro(?)�Size�:�1.8�Mega�--------------------------------------�This�is�in�my�own�opinion�one�of�thebest�production�that�the�Assembly�hasbrought�us.�This�quite�huge�demo�iscomposed�outta�6�parts�and�animations.This�demo�includes�very�good�sound,andextremely�good�graphics,�and�somethingwhich�is�exceptional�for�pc�demos:lotsof�imagination.�The�demo�begins�with�aquite�nice�starfield-intro,�then�youget�Vectorballs�and�shitbobs,�and�thenyou�begin�to�see�that�it�is�a�verygood�production,�you�see�a�cartoon-manmoving�his�head�like�a�mad�followingthe�rhytm�of�the�music,really�amazing!Then�you�get�a�very�nice�greetingspart,�they�also�used�a�lot�ofimagination�for�this�one,�and�you�endthe�demo�with�a�last�amazing�anim.So,�nice�sound,�very�nice�graphics,lots�of�imagination�and�neat�coding,this�is�what�makes�a�very�goodproduction.�So,�if�you�don't�have�ityet,�Get�it�now!!������--------------------------------------Name�:�Iconexia�Group�:�Iguana�(Vangelisteam)�Country�:�Spain�Sound�:�Sb�(Preview)�Size�:�637k�--------------------------------------�Well,�as�i�already�told�you�all�at�theAssembly�Review,�this�demo�ha �their�routinesto�be�old�and�in�fact�there's�nothingthat�astonishing,�like�for�exampleplasmas.�The�graphics�which�appearduring�the�intro�are�good�and�one�cansee�they�tried�to�put�some�design�intotheir�production.�The�complete�thingis�made�like�a�short�film-commercial.But�I�wondered�about�the�system-fontwhich�is�used�in�some�routines...��10th�place:�Fraust�-�Ratcompany--------------------------------------Sorry!�I�couldn't�manage�to�get�thisone�so�I�cannot�write�about�it.Perhaps�it's�not�yet�released.�11th�place:�Privtro�-�Irresistible�W.--------------------------------------Umm,�yeah...�Well,�another�fine�pro-duction�of�Irresistible�Works�fromGermany.�They�cheated!�The�Introlength�is�twice�as�big�as�it�wasallowed�to�be:�200k!�But�why�is�it�solarge?�If�you�compare�it�to�introslike�EMFs�it's�nothing�in�there.�Afteran�invitation-screen�we�see�shadebobs,the�slowest�I�ever�saw,�then�a�spherein�front�of�an�IW-logo,�and�then�asine-scrolly�as�an�endpart.�The�musicis�a�noisy,�boring�and�monotonous�tunewhich�takes�up�109k!!!Better�don't�download�it�even�if�youare�a�masochist.�We�can�only�say�thatthey�made�some�real�improvementcomparing�to�their�preview�productions�����12th�place:�Urgent�-�Pentagon--------------------------------------This�intro�from�Switzerland�looks�alittle�bit�like�all�these�old�standardintros.�You�know,�on�the�bottom�a�logoon�the�top�a�scroller�and�in�middle�ofthe�screen�a�starscroller�where�theaction�is.�The�vectors�which�fly�inthe�middle�part�of�the�screen�trans-form�to�letters�which�then�are�dis-played�in�a�real�font.�Looks�neat.The�mzk�are�ok�but�it�doesn't�excusesthe�fact�that�the�whole�intro�is�verybug,�yet.�Hope�this�wasn't�the�finalrelease�version.����������Hope�ya�didn't�expected�to�much�here,I'm�short�of�time�and�very�lazy�so�notvery�many�details�described�in�thisreview.�Also�excuse�any�mistakes�Imade�talking�about�the�effects,�I'mnot�a�coder�and�can�only�guess�howsome�tricks�are�achieved.���-Sam�/�Imphobia-���T
