Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was
stirring, not even a mouse.  The stockings all hung by the chimney with care, inhopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.  The children were nestled all
safe in their beds, while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.  And
Mama in hMerry Christmas I in my cap, ha* just settled down for a long winter's
nap.  When out andthe lawn there arose    h a clatter, I sprang from my bed to
see whA Very Happy New Year!ay to th���   ���I flew like a flash, tore open the
shutters and threw up the sash.  The �    ���the breast of the new fallen snow,
gave thFrom The Blue Flameto object           en what to my wondering eyes
should appear, but a miniature sl���������������tiny reindeer. With the little
old driver so lively and quick������������������, it must be Saint Nick!  More
rapid than eagles, his cours�������     ��������whistled and shouted and calledthem by name: Now Dasher! No�������     ����������Now Vixen! On Comet! On Cupid!On Donner and Blitzen!  To t�������     ����������o the top of the wall, now

then in a twinkling I h��������������������������������d pawing of each little
