While wife and kid were on our family cottage in the woods last week
I repaired my PowerComputing PowerWave 604/120. I didn't even turn
it on since 2007 and last year I discovered, it simply doesn't do
anything. I disassembled it to pieces, cleaned all parts with IPA,
re-seated everything back in sockets and was rewarded with the Mac
startup chime. Then I had to replace the graphics, because there
was no signal coming from the flashed Voodoo3, I used in the past.
And boom - my favourite Mac clone was back.
So I went online, did several screenshots and wanted to post them
on my phlog. But to do that I had to repair my phlog code, as it was
able to publish just .txt files, nothing else. I added GIF, JPG and
PNG to the list, symlinked the screenshot from my screenshot gallery
only to discover, that my screenshot gallery is not working - bad
permissions.
I don't know, whether it didn't work from the start or anything went
wrong just recently, but I had to do the third repair - rewrite
config files, fix file and folder permissions and restart motsognir.
Now everything works. So expect pictures in the future, because now
I can.
