Malaysia is now dealing with bitcoin issues, with a steamroller |

Sarawakian authorities have seized just over a thousand bitcoin mining |
|
rigs and ran them over with a steamroller. Rightly so. |
|
|

An entertaining video of the steamroller in action was on YouTube. |
|
|
|
I can barely even begin to expound on the myriad of ethical issues that |
|
bitcoin raises, but the biggest one which I have an issue with is its |
|
extreme energy use... It uses so much power, even compared with its |
|
contemporaries, that it has driven folks mining for it to steal power... |
|
Likewise the high power usage results in very high emissions of carbon |
|
dioxide. Just what we need, more global heating and climate chaos. |
