Here's how to use the S/Gopher proxy, which you should have gotten
with a copy of Umbrellix-flavored Gophernicus, which may by the
time you read this be called ugopherserver.

1. Ensure that Tcl8.6 is correctly installed at your site.
2. Ensure that Tcl-Tls is correctly installed for Tcl8.6 at your
  site.
3. cd to the directory you downloaded the proxy in.
4. ./clientproxy.tcl 27070 127.0.0.1
5. With a Gopher client of your choice, navigate to:
  Server: 127.0.0.1
  Port: 27070
  Selector: /0t/105/gopher.umbrellix.net/darknet-access/sgopher.doc
In newfangled URL speak, that's:
gopher://127.0.0.1:27070/0/0t/105/gopher.umbrellix.net/darknet-access/sgopher.doc

6. You should see this very document.

The selector format for the proxy is:

<type><t if tls, blank otherwise>/<portno>/<address>/<selector>

The proxy should be transparent to Veronica and Jugtail queries,
though this has not been tested. You are invited to electronically
mail the results of any testing to [email protected], or if you
have a suitably capable HTTP client, creating an issue on the page
at Github: https://github.com/asterIRC/aster-gophernicus .

We look forward to hearing from you.

Ja mata!
