## Session Notes:

In our last session [0], we were left with a bit of a cliff-hanger
as both Arro and Omes were charmed by Kirk, even as the party
confronted the rogue in the tunnels of level 2.

Not to be outdone, Osan attempted to charm Kirk, but the spell
failed. Arro meanwhile, trying to appease all parties, offered up
some of his gems if Kirk would take the loot and leave in peace.

As Kirk considered this offer, Frakus decided he had had enough. As
one of the two Dwarves in the party who could see in the dark, he
doused his lantern and killed Kirk with a single blow of his battle
axe. The charms on Arro and Omes were broken. Burdar (also a Dwarf),
who had seen what had transpired, filled Arro in while the mage cast
_continual light_ on one of his own gems.

Osan suggested bringing the bodies of Kirk and Tomas the menagerie
keeper to the ooze pool on this level. The party was able to do so,
but narrowly missed the Ochre Jelly itself as it returned to its
lair while they were dumping the bodies. They fled just in time,
heading back to the menagerie. In Tomas's quarters, they found in
his journal some notes on snake men who were living in the western
half of this level. They decided it was time to return to Larm, and
did so without incident.

Once in town, they set in motion plans to build a gatehouse atop
Arro's Hill, near the main dungeon entrance. They had had several
encounters there before even entering the dungeon on their various
forays, and wanted to secure it better.

## LL Notes:

Kirk's sword was identified as a +2 long sword that could cast
_charm person_ once per day, and is now wielded by Osan.

A note on the _continual light_ spell, I ruled that it lasts one day
per level of the Magic-User casting it, instead of forever. I think
this is a sensible limit to a powerful spell. Arro has a collection
of small gems he keeps with him in a belt pouch, and casts the spell
every few days on one of the gems as needed. This way, he can
"douse" the light by putting the gem back in its pouch.
