Devotion to the Child Jesus under the title "Infant Jesus of Prague"
has spread worldwide through its promotion by the Carmelite Order.
Venerable Sister Margaret of the Blessed Sacrament, a Carmelite
Sister of the Beaune Carmel who died in 1648, received a private
revelation of Our Lord in which she was given a chaplet in honor of
the Infant.
The chaplet, known as the Little Crown, consists of fifteen beads.
Three beads are in honor of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
On these the Lord's Prayer is recited. The other twelve beads are in
honor of the Holy Childood of Christ, and on them are recited twelve
Hail Mary's. Before each of the Lord's Prayers one says, "And the
Word was made flesh." Before the first of the Hail Marys, one prays
"And the Word was made Flesh and dwelt among us." On the medal, one
prays, "Divine Infant Jesus, I adore Thy Cross, and I accept all the
crosses Thou wilt be pleased to send me. Adorable Trinity, I offer
Thee for the glory of the Holy Name of God all the adorations of the
Sacred Heart of the Holy Infant Jesus."
In the revelations to Venerable Margaret, the Divine Infant promised
special graces, above all purity of heart and innocence, to all who
carried the chaplet on their person and recited it in honor of the
mysteries of His holy infancv.
