I have found that, in general, the St. Emilion district seems to be largely
unknown (which is fine with me, keeps the prices lower), at least in this
country.  I recently enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Troplong-Mondot (I think
that's the spelling), Grand Cru, which I picked up for a mere $8 (Expensive
for everyday, but CHEEEEP for a good wine).
