LLITOUT
       For those trying to use the LLITOUT (literal output)
local ioctl on 4.1 BSD (possibly other versions), you should make
sure that you perform a TIOSETP or TIOSETN afterwards so that the
device param routine gets called and the BITS8 bit gets set.
Until you do, your data path will not be set to 8 bits.

       Perhaps the inclusion of LLITOUT in the locals is a mistake,
or at least the param routine should be called if the ioctl cmd
is LLITOUT.
