Security and Smart Terminals
Well, not to sound pompous, but I thought of this one years ago. It's
just going to keep getting worse, as we get more and more terminals
with processors in them. We have a number of BBN BitGraph terminals
here; they house a 68000 processor and can be downloaded and have
a program run in them standalone. Downloading happens across the
serial line. So you can get much more clever than just putting it
in loopback mode. Super-users beware!

By the way, a variant on the HP scheme is to send the sequence to
program one of the function keys with the string you want uttered.
Then you can send another command to 'push' that function key.
