Shuttle News
Except for one experiment's failure, NASA is calling STS-3 a
complete success.  The failure of a scientific package designed
to measure UV rays from the sun was of human fault -- no one
checked to see if gases were building up; they were.  And
when no one opened a valve, a spark arced across the circuitry,
short circuiting most of the components.  Only one frequency
of measuring was left working, and although it is working fine,
the unit will not be able to take all the data it wanted to.

Meanwhile, Lousma and Fullerton were making final checks of the
ship in preparation for tomorrow's landing, scheduled at 1427 EST.
