Nikon price cuts
Nikon has recently cut their prices across the board. These are major
cuts, on the order of 30% or more. I'm not certain if the reductions have
shown up yet in the ad pages of the camera magazines (though Nikon's 2-page
spread announcing it has shown up); before buying, be sure to check the
Sunday N.Y. Times. I'm told that the price cuts were to combat importers
who bought Nikons abroad, then sold them in this country without benefit
of Nikon warranty. I was also told that other major manufacturers were
likely to follow suit.
