Able DH/DM Troubles?
We have two 780's, one running VM/UNIX, the other running VMS. THe UNIX
VAX has one DH/DM and the VMS system has two. All of the DH's have
hung on several occasions with all terminals dead and nothing will get them
to come back to life. Able says that the silo delayed interrupt option
(S4, 3) can cause this but I have my doubts. Has anyone else run into
this? ANyone with a cure? It can't hurt to change this DIP switch to closed
since the UNIX dh driver configures silo interrupts to behave in the same
manner that the option selects if S4-3 is closed. Closing this switch is
also supposed to prevent extra chars from popping up. We haven't noticed
this under UNIX but the VMS DH's have this happen 3-4 times an hour.
ANyone know more about this than I do? I'd like to hear from you if you do...
