IEEE 488 bus

Here is a digest of the replies I received to my query about
controlling an IEEE 488 bus from a vax.

The Ungermann-Bass NET/ONE will support an IEEE 488.
This seems like overkill however.  I haven't heard of
any UNIBUS devices, which would seem the sensible way
               to go.

There are 488 controllers for PDP-11s.  Try one of
those on the UNIBUS.  It might also be possible to
               control a 488 through a DR11-B or DR11-C; It would
probably require a little bit of external logic.
Fairchild and others have 488 controller chips out if
you want to go that route.

DEC actually makes an IEEE488 UNIBUS board which I've
heard actually works.  I don't know if they support it
on the VAX tho...  It is called the IB11 according to
my 1980 Peripherals Handbook, pg 293.  It is a bus
MASTER, set up to control up to 15 devices.

Thanks to Alan Watt, Steve Tarr and Bruce Borden for their
       help.
