The 'all' symbol
The symbol 'all' in a subscription list is EXACTLY equivalent to '*'
in the shell, with '.' taking the place of '/'.  (Yah, when you have
that kind of mapping you begin to think we're using the wrong characters
for newsgroups....).  Thus, '!net.auto.all' rejects all subgroups of net.auto,
but not the general group; '!net.auto' would exclude everything about
cars.  At least in Version A netnews, 'ALL' is recognized anywhere in
a string; thus, 'fa.tALL' would select 'fa.tcp-ip' and 'fa.telecom'.
I'm pretty sure the same is true for Version B.
