marketing research
This is a difficult question, but if you consider that since currently
everybody here is a DEC customer, I think it's of interest to the net.
All they are doing is using the more convenient and faster electronic mail
to poll their customers on whether a new product is desired.  This is
much the same as Berkeley or BTL asking if anybody would like a new
command for UNIX.  Particularly, in the case of decvax, which puts a lot
of money into supporting the uucp network as a central node, should be
able to ask such a question.  Advertising of other forms is another
question, however.  (ie. not related to software or hardware that runs the
net)
