Re: USENET policies
I was trying to summarize what I percieved people as saying to find out
if I was wrong.  I plan to post a revised policy statement shortly but
I want a little feedback before I revise it.

First - does anyone object to renaming net.jokes.q to ug.jokes, and to
putting net.jokes.limericks in ug.something?  This makes it very easy
for a site NOT to get them and requires explicit action by a site to
get them.  (It also might cause pressure for certain major nodes to accept
and forward ug.all, such as ucbvax, decvax, duke, harpo, mhtsa, ihnss,
and houxi.  If these nodes object to forwarding ug.all or if they believe
that the sites they forward to don't want it, please say so.)

Second, so far I've heard that one site MAY EVENTUALLY want to use the
net/pers distinction.  If there's only one site it would be easy for
them to tell whoever forwards news to them which newsgroups they want.
If there's anybody out there that really wants this distinction to
exist and wants to use it, you better speak up now!
