More freedom of the dataways ...
I cannot help but wonder the reaction of the typical management
person when he/she/they find(s) out that their computer and telephone bill
are supporting disgusting jokes such as net.jokes.q as well as the more
interesting material.  I hope that someone has considered that the net.jokes.q
type of entry could easily lead to :
"I'm not having any of that on my computer!  Take netnews off this machine or
I'll fire you!"
       or
"If one more dirty joke gets dirtributed via my phone bill, I'm going to
stop distributing netnews."

I don't feel this way, but I'm not an administrator how has just been asked
by his boss why $xxx has been spent on dirty/dumb jokes, and then told to
make sure that it stops.  I'm sure that my management wouldn't be thrille.
I would like to see USENET survive, and the content problem seems to be the
most likely threat to its existance.  One can argue the merits of bug discussion,
phoneco discussion, even space and sf_lovers on a value basis, but I don't
have the courage to try that with ignorant jokes!

(FLAME OFF)
