New News Program

Great to hear of a much improved news program, but the changes sound
pretty major. Are we going to have a 'flag day' when everybody in
the world has to change their netnews, or will the new news be
upward compatible? Also, I'd like to see some hack to the current
news so that the '.newsrc' file is created magically when a user
invokes 'news', so that there is a minimal user-interface change.
At a large installation, saying 'everybody do this today' seldom
works. I'm not saying the changes aren't good, but don't forget
the interface problem.
