commercial articles
The suggestion has been made that "commercials" should not be allowed,
but that "product announcements" should be.  Presumably, this means

(1) Only one ad per product.

(2) Only new products - don't hit us with one ad for every widget you
already have out on the market.

(3) Keep them short - ideally the whole ad should fit on the screen at once.

"product" could mean a hardware gizmo, a piece of software, or a consulting
or support service.  It could also be used for "want ad" types of ads,
such as "I have a used ASR 33 for sale - bids start at $10".  The latter
kinds of ads probably should be restricted geographically, for example,
someone in New Jersey would post to nj.ad, not net.ad.

This sounds reasonable to me - comments solicited.
