time formats
Some sites out there -- zeppo at least, though there may be others -- is
using a version of ctime() that eliminates the extra blank in a date like
"Apr  1".  Many programs rely on the *exact* layout of the field; among
them is Berkeley mail.  The lack of the extra blank in zeppo.168 (among
other articles; I've run across at least one other today) confused the
-M option of readnews.  It's possible that it could cause loss of mail
as well, though that's not likely here, given the way our rmail behaves.
So please -- stick with the standard.  (To be sure, the "improvement" may
have been made in postnews, not ctime; either way, it's a pain.)
