What happened to Version 2.2?

   Would the people who post updates to version B  sources  please  do  so
with   all   intermediate  versions  as  well  as  the  final  update?  The
distribution version we have here at Purdue (CS  Department)  is  2.1.  The
updates are for version 2.3. What happened to version 2.2?
   This is NOT a trivial complaint; the line numbers are totally wrong and
much of the context is different. I'm going to have to check out every call
to be sure that I  didn't  miss  something  in  the  2.2  updates.  PLEASE,
remember  that most of us news maintainers on the net do not have access to
your sources!!
