Fantasia Re-release
Word is out that Disney studios will be re-releasing Fantasia in the Fall.
However, they have re-recorded the soundtrack with a 125-piece orchestra
to replace the original Stokowski/Philadelphia Philharmonic tracks.
The interesting thing is that the original animation was done AFTER the
soundtrack, and was sync'd to it; in this case, the reverse was, of course,
necessary. Early reports are that the full Dolby stereo is nice, but the
effect is generally less impressive.
