Why do rock musicians lose part of their hearing? I think it must be
due to some stupid unwritten law that says each musician must be
louder than all of the others in his band. As a performing musician,
I can tell you that I have always kept my volume down to keep my
tone quality high. In addition, who wants to listen to some heavy
loud bunch of jerks when you can't tell a G on the bass from an
F# on the guitar? I don't.
