Re: Music to code by.
I find that I often need some sort of musical inspiration in order to
 "get going" on a project that needs a lot of coding. There are two
  pieces by Alan Parsons that are particularly good for this:
  "Secret garden" and "Days in your life".
When I am actually coding, I prefer to listen to Beethoven or Bach when
 I am working on my favourite program. When I am coding something I don't
 particularly enjoy, I listen to RUSH.
My tastes are somewhat eclectic, but what the hell.
