Disco neighbors
It wasn't disco, but one evening a neighbor ( I never did find out
who) put one Bach's 3rd Brandenburg, very loud.  Now I love Bach, so
I put on MY 3rd Brandenburg.  Things escalated.  My roommate and I
went through 2 conventional recordings, Wendy Carlos' switched on version,
and the Jacques Loussier Trio Jazz version.  Apparently conceding the
match, the neighbor finished off with the 1812 Overture at 120 dbA.
After the final chords, dead silence, followed by a single person
applauding slowly. (a third neighbor in the apartment building).
