helmets
A response on the worth of helmets:
On 21 Nov, my son & I (on a Honda CX-500) were approaching Klamath
Cal about 5:30 PM. Some nerd in a 4-wheel box appeared around a corner
in OUR LANE!!. By taking evasive action, I avoided the headender--but
not the street. Both of us now have obvious dents & scratchs in our
helmets from hitting US 101 at about 45 mph.
We are both:
1 alive
2 unhurt (dented helmet = undented head/brain!)
3 damn glad we had good helmets on
To anyone who doesn't like helmets and rides without one, I say--good.
When you are killed it will be more (and safer) room for the rest of us.
