Apple terminal software

I'm interested in using my Apple as a terminal to the local Unix
system. I had just about decided that I was going to have to by an 80
column board (and maybe a monitor) when I received the May issue of
Creative Computing. They review a product called Visiterm (by Visicorp,
the new name of the company that brought us Visicalc) which uses the hi-
res graphics to generate upper and lower case characters, apparently up to
80 columns wide (depending on how many capital letters you have). My
understanding of the package is that it allows both terminal usage and
file transfer.

Does anyone have any further info on this? I'm especially interested
in how easy the system is to use and how it copes with control characters
and escape sequences. Please send replies to me; as usual, I will distill
them and put the results on the net.
