ZX81 glitches

In ZX81 news and magazine articles, I have seen mention of a problem
which causes a 'glitch' in the machine when the 16K ram pack is in
use. I seem to have the same problem. My television screen goes white
and I have to turn the computer off and back on. It seems to happen
more when I have bigger programs in memory, for example a 4K Basic
putt-putt game or a 2K determinant program. Does anyone know what
causes this? Can I correct this with a bigger power supply, or
should I use a more (physically) stable connector for the memory?
Will permanently attaching the ram pack to the computer via some
sort of clamp help any?

Waiting for any and all ZX81 ideas,
               David Elliott
