swap-n-shop legality issue
The following discussion took place regarding the 'swap-n-shop' item in the
net.ham-radio announcement.  Other opinions are welcome.

This just to express interest in net.ham-radio.  I have some question
whether you want to include the "shop" part of "swap-n-shop"
since that probably violates educational Unix licenses (though I'm
no lawyer).

Thanks for your interest Lee.
As far as swap-n-shop is concerned, I take the view of most
repeater operators.  That is:
ham radio can be used to sstate that equipment is available or that a person
is looking for a particular item.  However, discussions of price and
consumation of any deals MUST be done off-the-air.
I think this interpretation can be applied to swap-n-shop via net.ham-radio.
I (**PERSONALLY**) see no reason why one can't say that they want to get rid of
or find something.  The net is merely bringing together two people with
similar interests.   They must then go to landline, US Mail, or an eye-ball
for further negotiation.
