introduction and some ideas
With the increasing interest of amateur radio enthusiasts
in personal computing, microprocessor control, packet radio,
and other digital transmission via radio, I have found  a large
number of hams around usenet.

I would like to start a netnews news group called 'net.ham-radio'
to pursue the following purposes:
+ find other hams with similar interests;
+ establish 'skeds' for off-usenet communications;
+ share OSCAR info (like that recently found on net.columbia);
+ discuss state-of-the-art experiments with digital transmission;
+ discuss microprocessor applications in ham radio;
+ discuss recent FCC rules changes (proposed and actual);
+ share DX info;
+ conduct a 'swap-n-shop' for used or surplus ham gear;
+ raise the level of awareness of non-ham readers;
+ etc. (this list is not in any way meant to be complete!)

Is there sufficient (or any) interest?
I invite interested persons to contribute their thoughts
to 'net.ham-radio' or to mail them to me directly.
Also, how about sending your name, call (if any), and system mail address to me?
I will compose a list of those names submitted and post it on the net.
