Subject: Message announcing TELETEXT list availability

Greetings.  This message announces the availability of the fa.teletext
newsgroup.  The actual source mailing list is TELETEXT@AI, with
Administrivia requests to be sent to TELETEXT-REQUEST@AI.

This list has existed for around two years or so, and discusses all
aspects of TELETEXT (data transmission over broadcast television
channels), VIEWDATA (consumer-oriented dialup/cable database systems),
DIGICASTING (data transmission over FM broadcast subcarriers), closed-
captioning, and related technologies.

At various times we have discussed most of the players in the
"teletext" arena from various parts of the world:  ANTIOPE, CEEFAX,
TELIDON, AT&T Presentation Level Protocol, etc.  This is a direct
distribution list and will remain so unless traffic becomes unreasonably
heavy.

The current list archives are in AI:GEOFF;TELTXT RECORD.  Please
let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks much.
