New Newsgroup?

Would anyone else out there be interested in having the INFO-PCNET  mailing
list  sent  into  "news"?  For those of you who don't know what it is, I am
enclosing the description from John Winterton's list he  posted  the  other
day:
--------------
PCNET is a volunteer effort to create a computer  network  for  personal
use,  that  is for whatever use a person wants to use it for without the
kinds of restrictions that most existing networks have, and without  the
shortsided communication barriers that company-funded networks have.

PCNET is trying to create a network where all computers, large or small,
part  of a formal network organization or just isolated privately owned-
and-operated computers, can communicate  with  each  other  effectively.
PCNET  has  defined  communication  protocols  that  verify  all data is
correct (retransmitting  data  that  is  lost  or  garbaged)  and  which
provides  multiple  logical  data  streams  so  that  processes can send
control and data information on different streams and  so  that  several
programs  can  share  a  single  hardware communication link.  PCNET has
defined  a  worldwide  addressing  standard   that   permits   automatic
forwarding  of messages and files without having to know the topology of
  the network a priori.

PCNET is presently finishing software on several machines  (8080,  6502,
PDP-10)  using  several  languages  (Assembly  language,  LISP,  C), and
perfecting its documentation, but as always is having difficulty getting
enough volunteer labor to complete these tasks.  INFO-PCNET is a general
mailing list to keep random  interested  people  advised  of  the  major
developments accomplished and to repeatedly solicit volunteer labor from
  interested people.

If you would be interested in reading this list, please MAIL me a  note  at
one  of  the "addresses" below.  Although currently the ARPA-UUCP situation
is in a state of turmoil, this should be worked out soon.  If  you  are  an
ARPA  site  and  would be willing to act as a gateway for this list, please
mail me.  I will tally all responses and post a final  "vote"  in  about  a
week or so.
