posting bug fixes with diffs
People often submit bug fixes over the net.
These are usually diffs to show what the bug fixes are.
Diff has a -e option which produces an ed script to create the
new file from the old file.  IF you have a good copy of the old file,
then these ed scripts should be a GREAT way to transmit fixes, but
nobody uses them.  You could include an ls -l and a checksum of the
files (before and after, with sccs cruft stripped) to ensure that
you won...  How about it?

(This is an addition to the human readable diffs, not a replacement.)
