New proposed newsgroups
I would like to propose the creation of a new set of USENET groups called
school.xxx
where xxx is the name of a school with significant *distributed*
readership on the net. The purpose of each group would be to allow the
alums of school xxx to keep in touch with each other, exchange bits of
info about what dear old dotty Professor X has been up to recently, etc.
Please note, this is *not* intended as a group for on-campus use, but
rather for keeping those who once shared the same operating systems,
flaky hardware, night-owl hang-outs, campus, etc., in touch with one
another.
