national security?
National security may be the reason called into play
by the Feds to invoke sanctions to break up the
       Japanese's 70 percent domination of the U.S. 64K RAM
market . . .  the military is worried that U.S. weakness
in the manufacture of the 64K chips may cripple some
of its programs "if war broke out." . . . we can't
make at least half of our strategic electronics in the U.S. . .

Sound familiar?      Brian
