Bugs in refer
Without knocking distributed software too much, there is a reasonable
chance the main REFER code has a number of fairly serious bugs (I know--
I fixed quite a few of them) and that the program does not really match
its documentation. I suggest to anybody interested in REFER that
it is probably not too hard to start over. I also suggest that the
use of B-trees instead of inverted indices makes sense for very large
REFER data bases. REFER is a good idea with a less good implementation.
