I wouldn't mind seeing a net.video.  I have an RCA 480 (I think that's
the number).  It's VHS, which has about 80% of the market in this part
of the U.S. (northeast), or so I am told.  It has a wired remote
control, although this years models do it wireless (mine is 1981
vintage).  It has the 3 speed business, with a fast search forward and
backward, 14 day 8 program timer.  I am hooked to a cable system
(Warner/Amex) so I can't take advantage of the the channel switching,
but the multi-program timer is a BIG plus.  I usually use TDK tapes.
I have had a little trouble interfacing to the cable, the fine-tuning
wanders a little over time, so occasionally I come to find a blank
tape where I thought there should have been something, but this is
infrequent.  The cost when I got it was about $1000, or a little less.
