what's foobar?
I see "foo" and "bar" and "foobar" quite a bit in UNIX documentation.
Are they totem words of some kind, bringing good luck and error-free
execution to any C program that uses them as inputs? Or are they some
form of curse, visiting core dumps and generic mayhem on the children
of my processes?

Or are they something else entirely?

I'd be really interested to find out.

Ken
