Looking for a netnews donor for Shasta
Shasta is a 11/780 at Stanford University EE, one of several named after
mountains in california (Helens, Diablo, Tamalpais).  Our machine is
mostly a VLSI haven with a strong second in Networking & Graphics (SUN
Workstations).  We have a 300 baud dialout and tielines to most of the
northern peninsula. We also have ties to the ARPAnet and to a well-populated
local ethernet.

We are running 4.1bsd.  (sigh).

We are looking for a donor of netnews.  If someone in the peninsula neighbor-
hood is currently receiving netnews, we would be willing to poll you for it
(double or nothing).  We would also be willing to forward netnews, but perhaps
no more than we take in.  None of us here want to be responsible for having
propagated net.volkswagen any further, and we already get unix-wizards and
other such brouhaha from the ARPAnet.

If anyone is interested, here is a list of my electronic cubbyholes:

csl.lab.hartwell@Score, ucbvax!god, perhaps research!god still, and those
of you who once knew our uucp password (it hasn't changed) try Shasta!hartwell
with dialins 1200/300 (415)497-5601,2,3,4,5
