proposed new newsgroups
net.jokes, in which people can post a good joke they just heard.

net.rumors, in which rumors of all kinds can flit about.  (This might
   be a good example of a need for subgroups, e.g. net.rumors.dec,
   net.rumors.btl, net.rumors.hollywood, differentiating by what the
   rumors are about.  net.rumors.btl would presumably be rumors about
   btl, and it's likely that mostly people outside btl would participate
   in this one, since if it's not a rumor btl people can say something.)

   we might give some thought to anonymous posting to net.rumors,
   although right now it isn't technically feasable.
