Obviously research!dmr's account of dsw is far more accurate than
the one I published.  Within a few seconds of publication I realized
that I should have included a caveat with my version.  It was
told several years ago after a group of us had had a few beers.
The teller of the tale was not Ken Thonpson or Dennis Ritchie,
so between my memory and the fact the person who told the story
was not in involved in the creation of dsw, it is very
understandable that some (a number) of the facts got twisted.
I am glad that dmr took the time to set the origins of dsw
straight,  I had painted the picture terribly grim by not
even allowing them an terminal.
