It used to be that you could tell an area code from a exchange prefix
by the fact that the middle digit of all area codes was either zero or
one with exchange prefixes having 2 through 9 in that position.  Now in
Los Angeles you can have a phone in the 306 exchange (306 is also the
area code for Saskatchewan).

I wonder how many computer programs are now going to break (they had
lots of fun trying to get our non-Bell PBX to understand it).
