Mindstorms and LOGO
Does anyone out there know the status of MIT's LOGO language?
It is discussed in a wonderful book called Mindstorms by
Seymour Papert, which is about computer science and children.
Very young children can learn the language, and as a result
they are introduced to how to think, and how to teach a
computer to do something.  Thus, to learn how to multiply
numbers, a child will write a routine to do digit-by-digit
multiplication, and end up understanding the concept much
better.  LOGO can be graphically oriented, and can control
a mechanical turtle.  It is also a serious language
with (I think) much of the power of LISP.
