Marinade for Grilled Beef Strips
[It has been a while since anything has popped up in this news group;
I hope this inspires some of the rest of you to contribute.]

This is a deceptively simple recipe for an excellent summertime marinade
for beef.  In fact, I served this yesterday to my wife and kids for
Mothers Day supper.  (No, I didn't serve the marinade; we ate grilled
beef strips. Give me a break!)  The recipe was given to us by a good friend
living in Rochester in trade for the Swedish Meatball recipe that I distributed
a few months ago.

                       Marinade
Combine:
1/2 cup oil             1 cup catsup
1 garlic clove crushed  1-1/2 tsp Tobasco Sauce
1-1/2 tsp soy sauce     3/4 tsp sugar
1 med. onion, minced    salt and pepper to taste

                       Beef Strips

Use:
1 to 1-1/4 lbs beef for 2 people
2-1/2 to 2-3/4 lbs beef for 4 people

[I use flank steak or good round steak and slice it as though
       it were cooked London broil.]

Place strips in marinade and refrigerate overnight.
[Yesterday, I used 2 lbs meat and 2/3 recipe marinade for 4 people.]

Grill on charcoal or gas grill until some edges are charred and crisp.
Serve with rice or pita bread and salad; cold beer to drink.
